Try This Immune Boosting Rasam And Rice Recipe To Boost Your Immunity

Rasam and rice are all time favourite food of Maharashtrians. As you think of a quick, easy and flavoursome meal it eventually struck your mind. But do know the benefits of the flavoursome meal. Without wasting a second let us tell you that if you want to boost your immunity, here is a take on to the south Indian accompaniment that you must try.

Nutritionist uses the multipurpose herb, thyme which is known to cure various ailments such as sore throat, cold and even gastritis.


15g – Arhar dal

20g – Chopped tomato

1 tbsp – Fresh thyme leaves

4-5 – Curry leaves

1 tsp – Cumin seeds powder

¼ tsp – Turmeric powder

½ tsp – Black pepper

1 tbsp – Tamarind water

1 tbsp – Lemon juice

1 tsp – Olive oil

Water as required


*In a pan, add some tamarind water, tomatoes, rasam powder, cumin powder, black pepper, turmeric and salt.

*Then add thyme leaves to it and boil it over medium flame until the tomatoes are cooked.

*Pre wash the dal and cook it for 3-4 whistles in a pressure cooker.

*Once the dal is cooked, transfer it to the tamarind tomato base.

*In another pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds to it. Now pour lemon thyme rasam.

*Now add lemon juice to it.

*Serve hot along with the rice and enjoy!
